Green Graves is bringing natural burial to Minnesota through its environmentally friendly preneed burial plans Ashes2Ashes™ and Dust2Dust™. These plans cover basic expenses associated with a certified green burial... from removal to interment.
Green Graves are Smart Graves
Our environmentally friendly burial products allow you to do the smart thing by 1) locking in the cost of basic burial services at today’s prices, 2) mitigating or avoiding all together the harmful effects of modern burial practices on the environment, 3) reducing stress on your family 4) helping organizations that are dedicated to sustainability and the environmental and 5) saving precious land and resources.
Ashes2Ashes™ - Cremation
Ashes2Ashes™, our cremation plan, covers local removal, refrigeration, a private viewing for the family, cremation, preparation of necessary paperwork, a biodegradable urn, a burial plot and opening/closing of gravesite or scattering rights, a grave marker and a variety of natural plantings at Prairie Oaks. It also includes GPS coordinates and a page in our memorial archive. Green Graves provides added "green" value by including a "Green Tag", which offsets carbon (CO2) emissions placed into the atmosphere by your cremation. "Green tags" are renewable energy resource credits that support wind, solar and reforestation projects.
Dust2Dust™ – Burial
Dust2Dust™, our burial plan, covers local removal, refrigeration, a private viewing for the family, a biodegradable coffin, a burial plot and opening and closing of the gravesite, a grave marker and a variety of natural plantings at Prairie Oaks. It also includes GPS coordinates and a page in our memorial archive.
Additional products and services such as announcements or a public viewing are coordinated by our funeral services partner.
Reduce Reuse Recycle
The green grave you purchase is truly green.... forever. Every 20 years following a green burial, you have the right to bury others in your plot for a reduced price, reuse the plot in perpetuity and recycle its value for generations to come. If another death occurs before the 20 year period expires, you must purchase another plot. Digital records of who is buried in your plot are kept in perpetuity in the memorial archives section of the Green Graves website. GreenGraves are smart because they save land, resources and money!
